The urban design studio dealt with understanding the city and its urban spaces. How a micro level change can impact the functioning of the city-space, was analysed upon. The site was a small but culturally rich town of Siddhpur that had layers of history imbided in its character. Located on the banks of river Narmada, the town evolved along the banks. Displaying bohra, Hindu as well as colonial vernacular heritage, the town is now facing a cultural degradation which has in turn affected the overall growth of the town. The main aim of the semester was to analyse acknowledge and understand the functionality of the town and to propose a design solution for the urban issues currently being faced by Siddhpur.
