Inspired from Mies Van Der Rohe's principle of "less is more", a post retirement residence is proposed on a site adjacent to a lake in Anand, Gujarat. A series of units having a linear organization designed to either directly relate to one another or to link them through a separate and distinct linear space. Three rectangular blocks are used which are oriented in such a way that maximum lake view is captured. One of the mass is separated both physically as well as functionally. The set of minor functions are allocated to this area considering the lake view from maximum areas.
